I woke up on Monday morning with a sudden onset cough and headache.  After a quick check of the symptoms on the HSE website I knew there was a chance I’d caught the swine flu.  I knew to watch out for the other typical flu symptoms.  Luckily enough, as the day passed nothing else developed and I was feeling much better by Tuesday.   That got me thinking.

Less than 30% of Irish companies able to restore data from backups! I saw a very interesting piece in the Business supplement in the Irish Times on Friday which said that “many Irish companies are leaving themselves open to disruption or lost revenue due to poor disaster –recovery techniques”.

HP In €500,000 Blade Server Deal With C Infinity

Computing giant HP has struck a deal worth €500,000 to equip business outsourcing firm C Infinity with high-end blade-server technology.

The deal was completed via HP’s channel partner Redstone.

The deal will allow C Infinity to make the full range of HP enterprise-class server features available to companies of any size, and in particular off-site storage.
