I previously mentioned the different methods of creating backups of your MS Outlook PST and for the most part its a manual process. You can still use Microsoft’s Outlook plugin to create an automated copy of the PST file but it still requires a safe offsite backup.
Once you know where the Outlook PST file is located on your hard drive and you’ve deleted any unwanted emails the next step is to configure the Connected Agent to include Outlook into the data set. These are easily done by:

Step 1: Open the Connected agent and you’ll be faced with the main interface for Connected Online Backup. You can view the backup summary, reports and even messages from us. For now we are only interested with configuring the agent to start Outlook backups.
This screen shot shows the main interface when Connected online backup is opened. As you can see from the image the Backup Set option is located on the left tool bar, above Retrieve. Click into the Backup Set on the left to begin the backup configuration process.
Step 2: As the backup set window opens the agent will start to scan the hard drive and a question mark will appear to inform you the drive is being scanned.
Once the scan completes the question mark will become box to show if the directory is added to the backup set. Wait for the scan to complete before going to the next step.
Step 3: Expand the folder and follow the path of where your Outlook PST file is located on your hard drive. Click the box for the PST file you wish to backup and that’s it!
