Network Management
An essential component of running a managed infrastructure is network management. Internet connectivity is monitored in terms of two aspects:
- Logs are maintained to identify security threats and faults.
- Network performance.
The server, operating system and server application infrastructure is monitored using Microsoft System Center Operations manager. This monitors every aspect of those components that it can discover, e.g. HP hardware, Windows Server 2003, RedHat Linux, SQL Server 2005. This is monitored by C Infinity staff and alerts are automatically sent to both C Infinity and the relevant C Infinity clients.
Server security is maintained using centrally managed and tested security updates and centrally managed anti-malware.
