We have upgraded our monitoring system from Operations Manager 2007 SP1 to Operations Manager 2007 R2.
C Infinity is serious about putting “managed” in Managed Server Hosting. C Infinity uses OpsMgr (Microsoft System Center Operations Manager) to manage the health and performance of all discoverable aspects of servers, virtualisation, services and applications from a server’s perspective and from a client’s perspective. This means that our Managed Server Hosting clients have the ability to see how well their servers and applications are performing. Customers of our Outsourced Monitoring service also benefit by getting almost instant access to the very best enterprise level management system available on a subscription basis with the minimum of engineering. Both they and C Infinity’s engineers can react to, or very often even prevent, an issue whether it be a failed disk, a website responding slowly, a memory board degrading or a service crashing. The alerts provide information describing the cause and usually the solution to the issue. This means that our clients and our clients’ customers get the very best service possible.
OpsMgr 2007 R2 offers a major new benefit to our customers. It offers the ability to monitor the health and performance of Linux and UNIX servers using agents and management packs that were written by Microsoft. This keeps the cost down and simplifies support. The following platforms are added to those previously supported out of the box:
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and 10, SP1
- Red Hat Enterprise Server 4 and 5
- Solaris 8 for SPARC, 9 for SPARC and 10 for SPARC and x86
- HP-UX 11iv2 for PA-RISC and IA64 and 11iv3 for PA-RISC and IA64
- and AIX 5.3 for PowerPC and 6.1 for PowerPC
With 3rd party support we can add other applications including but not limited to:
- Oracle database
- MySQL
- DB2
- ESX
- Tomcat
- Websphere
- Oracle Application Server
- Sendmail
- Postfix
The web Operations Console has some cosmetic changes but everything has remained where it was before without being renamed.
Please feel free to contact C Infinity if you are interested in talking to us about Managed Server Hosting or Outsourced Monitoring
