C Infinity Engineer Awarded MVP

Aidan Finn was awarded with the “Most Valuable Professional” status by Microsoft on 1st July, 2008. He was given MVP status for his work on promoting and assisting others with Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager, a flagship product in Microsoft’s network management product catalog.

Microsoft describes the MVP program as follows:

“The Microsoft MVP Award Program recognizes and thanks outstanding members of technical communities for their community participation and willingness to help others. The MVP Award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who foster the free and objective exchange of knowledge by actively sharing their real-world expertise with technology users. The MVP Award celebrates the most active community members from around the world who provide invaluable online and offline expertise that enriches the community experience and makes a difference in technical communities that feature Microsoft products.

MVPs are a select group of experts representing technology’s best and brightest people who share a commitment to community. While MVPs come from many backgrounds and a wide range of technical communities, they share a passion for technology and a demonstrated willingness to help others. MVPs do this by writing books and articles, managing Web sites, maintaining blogs, participating in user groups, hosting and contributing chats, presenting at events and training sessions, and answering questions in technical newsgroups, forums, or message boards.

When a community participant sees an MVP in a technical community, whether in a newsgroup, as a user group host, a conference speaker, or a respondent in forums, that community participant can be confident that the information shared by the MVP will be of the highest caliber and will help every user make the most of the technology.”

Aidan has maintained his own blog specialising in Microsoft-based infrastructure: Windows Server, Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager, SMS, System Center Operations Manager, security and best practices. Since 2003, Aidan has been a contributor to the MR&D online forum. He has spent considerable time researching new technologies and sharing his experiences and findings. In the last year he has worked on Windows Server 2008, virtualisation and enterprise management. This includes writing many whitepapers for his blog and contributing 4 chapters for 2 books on Windows Server 2008 which will be published in the near future by Sybex/Wiley.

What does this mean for the clients of CInfinity? Aidan has demonstrated his abilities in best practice enterprise network design, implementation and management by documenting and sharing this expertise. This has been closely inspected by Microsoft and they have recognised Aidan’s skills and contributions. Aidan is the senior systems and infrastructure engineer in C Infinity. He is responsible for designing the network infrastructure and he is applying those same best practices, e.g. Microsoft’s Dynamic Systems Initiative and Infrastructure Optimisation, with best of breed products. C Infinity’s clients can use the infrastructure and be assured that their IT investment is in safe hands, i.e. secure, stable, flexible, managed and always competitive. This allows the client to concentrate on their business development rather than investing effort in operations.
