Automated Online Backup That’s Easy To Use

On a daily basis I deal with businesses who may have limited internal IT resources or who have outsourced their IT to a 3rd IT service contractor.

One of the many problems these businesses face when it comes to safe guarding their critical data is knowing what options are available to them but also how can a backup solution be implemented at very little cost.  Not many people give thought to the after sales support, in other words, who needs to be contacted when things go wrong? Will it cost the business extra to contact someone?

One of the things we at C Infinity understands is that none of us expect our customers to have technical knowledge on how to install a backup service, how to configure backups or even how to perform a restore in the event of a disaster. These are things we look after for each and every customer, with no extra costs.

Some time ago the Sunday Business Post published an article about one of our customer FMB Chartered Accountants and why they use our automated backup service. FMB is a prime example of a business that  battled with tape backups.

David McArdle of FMB said the following about the use of tapes:

‘‘It’s a weak system because, if someone forgets to put the tapes in one night and we have a disaster, we lose at least a day’s work, and, with the best will in the world, the first place you tend to store the tape is beside the server in the same building. We have two fireproof boxes, but you still wouldn’t want to be relying on it.”

I am sure the majority of business owners who use tape backup can agree with what David said and I know from my dealings with small companies this is a very common concern for many.

David also said

‘‘While I’m interested in IT, I’m not technical, and I wanted something that was easy to use and that’s what we got. And it takes up very little bandwidth,” said McArdle. ‘‘We can throttle it to whatever bandwidth we want to allocate to it, but it’s never been an issue. The office typically has 20-30 users, but we’re not heavy on bandwidth.”

The web control panel for the backup service was designed for people like David, with little technical knowledge of a backup system. The control panel is extremely easy to use to perform backups and restores but more importantly removes the need of getting someone to perform backups every day, the backup system is fully automated.

There are many other great benefits from using our continuous backup service that I will cover at a later date.

If you are interested in testing our backup service for your business don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
